SIT. STAY. SIP.
The original idea
Back in 2005, when John and his brother, Joe, dreamed of starting a business, they knew they wanted it to feel like a neighborhood hangout. A dog wash and a coffee shop might have seemed like an unlikely combination, but it worked. The dog wash gave people a reason to come in, and the coffee gave them a reason to stay.
People came in after the park, washed their dogs, grabbed a coffee, and stayed a while. Dogs became regulars, and so did their people.
Over time, Muddy Paws became Bark-N-Bean, and grooming became a bigger part of the business. The space changed. Then the pandemic changed it even more. The coffee bar went away, and so did a lot of the hanging around.
As the Bark-N-Bean space gets a bit of a refresh, we’re hoping to bring back more of the hanging around, starting with coffee. There may not be a barista behind the counter anymore, but you can still grab a cappuccino, and we’ll give you the wi-fi password.
OUR PROMISE
Good care goes beyond a great haircut or a clean dog. It's about treating every dog with kindness, making their comfort and safety a priority, and giving their people the same thoughtful attention. We believe in clear communication, doing things right, and making things right when we don't.
GROWING THE PACK
Recently, Bark ’N’ Bean expanded its appointment availability with BNB Dog Salon, a second location in Clock Tower Place dedicated exclusively to grooming. With more groomers and a space designed specifically for grooming, the Salon can accommodate more appointments while maintaining Bark ’N’ Bean’s standards for care and communication.
“I’ve been taking our 13-year-old Golden and 6-year-old Frenchie here for the last 8 months and can’t recommend the staff enough. Everyone is so patient and kind - especially with our Frenchie, who hates being groomed and can be very rude. Thank you for taking such great care of our pups!”
